Love Oasis. They are a staple of Iowa city for high quality Mediterranean food. Their falafel is delicious and they never fall short. If you live in Iowa City and haven't been to Oasis Falafel yet, you're seriously missing out. This place has been around for years, and for good reason--it's the kind of spot you keep coming back to because it's just that good. What to Order The falafel pita: Crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and packed with fresh ingredients. It's my go-to, and I always get the full pita (worth it for the leftovers). The hummus: Easily the best hummus I've ever had. Smooth, flavorful, and ridiculously addicting. The fact that I can buy it at local grocery stores is dangerous in the best way. The hot sauce: If you like a little kick, this will take everything up a notch. A must-try! Things to Know Before You Go Seating is limited, so if you're coming with a group, it's better for takeout. Parking can be tricky--street parking only, but totally worth it. Order ahead if you're in a hurry--they can get busy during peak hours! Their grocery store hummus is a lifesaver--stock up when you can. There's something about Oasis that just makes you happy. The food is fresh, the flavors are incredible, and every visit feels like a little win. Whether you're a longtime fan or trying it for the first time, you're in for something special. Can't wait to come back!

Oasis Falafel is an IC institution. If you live here and haven't been, shame on you. We can't be friends! It's open daily for dine-in, carryout, or delivery (via Chomp). It doesn't take reservations and seating is limited. It isn't super conducive to large groups for dine-in but does have a robust catering menu! Pricing is on point, staff is nice, parking isn't always the easiest. (Expect street parking.) I've had the chicken shawarma, gyro and falafel. The falafel pita is hands down my favorite. So fresh with a sublime Mediterranean salad. I always get a full pita (it's like $2 more than the half) and have leftovers. A true star on the menu is the hummus. Best hummus I've ever had. And it's available to buy at the store, local grocery stores and even Costco! If you want to be my friend, try Oasis (and bring me a pita).

I love this place. We fed a crew. The service was pleasant and timely. Everyone was happy with the food. Crowd pleaser.

Falafel and Hummus were good. Service was fast casual style. Inside is small- i would not want to sit down inside to eat. We sat outside on the street tables.

I've been coming here for years on the historic Northside and I'm proud that Oasis Falafel is alive and well! Just the yummiest falafel (1000% with the mango sauce) ever and the best baba ghanoush I've had since I was on the UWS.

When I think of visiting home - OASIS is always on the top of my mind as far as food goes. Don't think twice. The chicken shawarma pita is probably one of the best of gods gifts- their delicious homemade hummus paired with their Mediterranean salad & falafel is to die for.

Love the food! Best falafel and hummus in the Midwest! Great that we can get some in the grocery store closer to home but always a treat to eat in Iowa City!

Came here about 130 in the afternoon in a Friday. There was one other person ahead of me. I sat and waited for 20 minutes for my food to carry out. :( Management reached out to me and apologized, will update my review next time I'm in. The Chicken Shawarma was solid. Wife liked the falafel.

I just discovered this place and I'm so glad I did. In all my years of visiting Iowa City I never knew of this place until another Yelper recently recommended it. My husband and I wanted some place to grab a quick bite to eat for lunch that wasn't too expensive and this definitely was it. It's kind of a hole in the wall and there's not much seating but the food is great. I got a half chicken shawarma sandwich and my husband got a half gyro sandwich. We both loved our sandwiches and thought they were tasty. Neither of us had had a shawarma or gyro sandwich with falafel in it before and we loved it. I have never been that much of a fan of falafel but theirs was really good. I was disappointed that they didn't have tzatziki sauce because that's a staple for me whenever I eat Mediterranean food. But their mango curry sauce was wonderful and made up for the lack of the tzatziki. Their tahini sauce was too runny for me--about the consistency of water. I think if it were just a little thicker it would have been better. The vegetables were chopped into huge pieces and kept falling out of the pita. We would have liked it better if they were diced into smaller pieces. We thought the prices were a little high for the half size sandwich. You can get twice as much for only a couple dollars more with a full sandwich. Next time we would just split a full sandwich because it would cost much less that way. I heard their fries are the best in town so I'll have to try them the next time I'm in town. Im always looking for new places to eat when I come to Iowa City so I'm so happy to have discovered this place.
